Dojo introduction

The Kyūdōkan is one of the oldest Shōrin-ryū karate dōjō in the prefecture. Its founder, Higa Yūchoku studied under Chōshin Chibana, the founder of the Shōrin-ryū, and began teaching karate at his home in 1941. The Kyudōkan Rengōkai is an association that has 6 dōjō in the prefecture and branch dōjō in 16 countries around the world. With its approximately 5,000 students worldwide, it strives at promoting and inheriting traditional Okinawan karate.
