Dojo introduction

The chairman, Iha Kotarō, is recognized as a holder of the Okinawa Prefecture intangible cultural asset “Okinawa Karate & Kobujutsu”.
He studied karate under Chibana Chōshin and Higa Yūchoku.
He studied kobudō under Izumikawa Kantoku, a top disciple of Oshiro Chōjo, Ishikawa Hōei, Toma Shiko, Tawata Shinchin and Kinjō Takeshi.
In 1973, he opened the Dōjō Shūdōkan in the former Gushikawa City (currently Uruma City), and later established the Ryūkonkai.
Practice is centered on kobudō. Karatedō follows the line of Higa Yūchoku of the Kyūdōkan.
Among our students, many have won titles at the prefecture level and at world tournaments.
