Dojo introduction
Okinawa Kenpō was founded by Nakamura Shigeru. Nakamura inherited the techniques and philosophy of Master Kuniyoshi Shinkichi of Tomarite, who studied and refined "Ti" that was a martial art that has been passed down since ancient times in Okinawa. This ryūha has a long history of introducing and working hard to popularize kumite wearing an armor and was the first to hold the kumite tournament that included different ryūha in Okinawa.

Currently, training is held every Friday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Kadena Minami Children’s Center, and every Wednesday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Kadena Town Naka Children’s Center. Training at the private home dojo in Zakimi, Yomitan Village is also available depending on schedule. (Private lessons only; a maximum of 5 participants per session.) Training content includes: • Basic techniques • Pre-arranged sparring • Heavy bag training • Full-contact sparring |
